Precious Lives Discarded

Just when we thought we had seen it all in the rescue world….along comes such an unspeakable act that could have had a tragic ending for a four voiceless tiny creatures.  A litter of four large breed pups were found stacked up in a trash barrel, left outside a private property on trash pickup day.
We speculate that the pups were dropped off sometime in the late evening hours, and miraculously survived the night, until found in the early hours of the following morning.  Estimating the ages to be around two months old, all four girls appeared underweight, very frightened, but otherwise in reasonably good condition.   We are happy to report that all four are doing well now, and of course, all four lucky girls are looking for their forever homes.   Could that be your home?

If you are interested in giving a wonderful life to one of the four pups, or any other of our 250 dogs, and cats, we’d love to hear from you.

For more info, please call our shelter between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays) at (818) 340-1687 or (818) 340-1186, or email admin@petadoptionfund.org  Website http://www.petadoptionfund.org/

Update: 08-06-12 All four pups are now in happy homes.

Who We Are

Incorporated in 1983 in the state of California as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, Pet Adoption Fund (PAF) is proud to be the largest No-Kill animal shelter in the city of Los Angeles. We are staffed primarily by volunteers, and exist solely on donations. Since inception, PAF has helped shelter, rehabilitate, and find happy homes for the thousands of dogs and cats rescued off the streets, high kill shelters, and from owners who can no longer care for their companion animals.

At any given day, we care for approximately 250 homeless dogs and cats at our Canoga Park, CA shelter. All of the dogs and cats in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before being placed in adoptive homes.
